Turnitin Maintenance Alert – Saturday 01/07/2017

Turnitin (anti-plagiarism) software will undergo essential maintenance on Saturday 01/07/2017 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST. During this 8 hour window, Turnitin assignments will not be available. This does not affect regular eLearning assignments; it only affects Turnitin assignments. Users are requested to plan accordingly.

Upcoming Turnitin Maintenance – 12/3 (Sat), 9am-1pm

Turnitin has announced a planned outage for Saturday, December 3, from 9am-1pm CDT. During this time, Turnitin will be undergoing essential maintenance and will be UNAVAILABLE.  (Students will not be able to submit Turnitin assignments during this maintenance period.) Please contact if you have any questions.

Spring 2017 Courses; Add TA/Other Users; New Course Merge Tool, Early Access

Spring 2017 Courses – Spring courses are now available to instructors in eLearning.  Students will be loaded one month prior to the semester start.  Fall courses, however, will not become visible to students until the first day of class (January 9th).

REMINDER: Adding Users to Your eLearning Course

Below are forms to have users added to your eLearning courses. We strongly recommend that all requests be submitted before the Spring 2017 semester begins.


INSTRUCTIONS: How to Add a TA to your eLearning Course

– Request submitted by the Instructor-Of-Record via Orion

– TA must have already completed FERPA training to be added your eLearning course.

– Do not use Firefox to submit your TA information.


FORM: Add a User (Other than a TA) to Your eLearning Course

– submitted by the Instructor-of-Record or Department Head
– requires justification

– will be submitted to Registrar for consideration for approval


NEW Course Merge Tool – The eLearning Team is working with OIT on the completion of a new Course Merge Tool which will be used by faculty to merge courses.  The major advantage of this new tool is the immediate creation of course merges upon instructor request.  We are completing testing and documentation for this new tool, and it will be available for use on December 8.  (Please Note: Any courses that are designated in Orion as cross-listed will automatically be merged.)

Opening an eLearning Course Early – If you are interested in making your Spring 2017 eLearning course available/accessible to your students prior to the first day of the semester, please complete/submit an ELEARNING COURSE EARLY ACCESS FORM.
PLEASE NOTE: Courses can be opened up to one month prior to the semester start.  So the earliest date for Spring 2017 courses to be opened is December 9th.
